Long day of theatre was on tap for me. It was the last two performances for the show I was working on. It wasn't exactly a stressful experience being a dresser for the first time. I didn't really suspect there to be a problem with handing a person the right outfit or helping them putting on a shirt. One person described it as what it is like to have a kid. I wouldn't know but I can only imagine...
Personally I think the show went well. The last crowd we had was really responsive so that was nice. Nothing is more appreciated in a theatre than feedback. I don't mean the kind you get from speakers, but from the audience reacting to what is happening on stage. It is nice to hear the audience laugh even if you aren't the person on stage saying something funny. It fuels the machine. I greatly encourage everyone to react to theatre because that's what we (the performers and crew) love to see.
It being a super long day my poor dog was penned up in my bathroom the whole time. I felt so bad for her and not being able to walk about other than the small space of my bathroom. Also the fact I couldn't get home to feed her either wasn't a happy feeling. Had I been aware of the strike they were planning to do after the show I would have tried to at least give her a bit extra food to hold her off for longer, but I wasn't given that information.
Let me tell you, she was super excited when I got home and took her out for a little walk. She was running and pouncing about. I wish I could have got a video but it was dark out when I got home. I tried to get a bit of her rubbing her face on the floor once we came back inside but this was all I could get by the time I got my phone out. Ah well.

Ugh. I wanted to embed the video so you could watch it here but it isn't working. So you'll just have to settle for a link. Sorry. I'm too tired to try other options. Maybe I'll try to fix it in the morning.
Goodnight.
